Define your genre in five words or less: Hard hitting riff rock. What makes you happiest about what you’re doing? Getting on a stage playing massive riffs over phat grooves to nodding heads, pumping fists and devil horns. And what makes you unhappiest about what you’re doing? Not doing the above every night of the week! When are you playing live/releasing your album/EP/... Read More

Cold Chisel

In 1983, five heavy-drinking rock‘n’rollers were the hottest things in Australian music. They played hard, partied hard and rocked even harder. But, all good things come to an end and Cold Chisel called it quits in 1983. The members were sobering up, settling down and unpacking their tour bags for what they thought would be the last time. Bassist Phil Small admits that those young... Read More

"The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades," remarks Wally Kempton, bass player with Melbourne power pop favourites Even. It's a positive, albeit gratuitous assessment of Even's current situation; with principal songwriter Ash Naylor in perpetual high demand for his stage and studio services, and Kempton juggling his own booking, performing and managerial activities (Kempton's management stable... Cold Chisel : All For You

The first new Cold Chisel track in 13 years was written by Don Walker and focuses on a man who works hard for a woman. It's alright, but would have been album filler in their glory days. The slow pitching ballad has a chorus that barely swells, a tired sort of song with a strained vocal performance from Barnesy that sounds a bit nasal and wobbles around the lower notes. Features Steve Prestwich... Read More
