Queenscliff Music Festival rev up the festival heat this summer with a second announcement of acts to add to the already blistering 2011 line up. New acts to join in include the UK’s Simon Breed, as well as two of Australia’s great songwriters Mick Harvey and David Bridie. The first time he went to Europe, Fremantle-born singer songwriter Carus Thompson took his guitar, backpack and optimism. Since that trip – when he found himself playing a run of shows that included one for 20 people in someone’s lounge room – he’s released three solo albums and continued touring continuously. After a couple of regional dates Carus Thompson will be smashing into the Corner Hotel, ok they play folk music so it'll be more of a leisurely stroll than a smash, but still. They're launching the kick-ass new album Caravan . Along with friends Yanto Shortis and Leena to provide some supporting entertainment this isn't a Blues Fest show but it should be.
