The Australasian Worldwide Music Expo has revealed its second round of artists for its 2014 incarnation.

 

Now in its seventh year, AWME will feature performances from over 50 bands alongside networking and conference sessions across Melbourne this November.

Groundation will be hitting Aussie shores this February with their eclectic mix of funk, jazz and dub.

 

It's been two years since the Californian eight-piece performed here, wowing audiences at WOMADelaide, and their 2010 Australian tour saw the band captivate and play to packed houses, including a show-stopping performance at the Australian World Music Expo.

When you think of the term ‘rock music’, literally hundreds of iterations and acts spring to mind. Its breadth as a genre of music these days veritably boggles the mind. When you think about ‘world music’, the definition is even broader, as it can take in the Indigenous music of just about every nation on the planet, from Djibouti to Japan to Jamaica.
