Mayor Bernadene Voss said the makeover has significantly improved Gasworks Arts Park Theatre that will endure over the long term.
“It’s been a big effort since last October to upgrade this gem of a facility, and I’m glad to say we’ve got a great result with some major enhancements and new features,” Cr Voss said.
“Separate to the completed upgrade, Council has also approved a plan for new retractable theatre seating within the next two years, which will increase the capacity and versatility of audiences.”
Gasworks Arts Inc. has been an important partner during the upgrade project which started eight months ago.
The organisation continues to present high quality performances, exhibitions and programs with its staff and volunteers relishing in the improved facilities.
