They’d say “Oh this band is pretty funky.. Kinda sound like The Black Seeds crossed with UB40, or something.” What do you love about making music? It comes as a natural expression of creativity. When you do things... Read More

Something Different

In a world where the ordinary is starting to be seen as the extraordinary, there are artists that feel the need to question that, proving that some things are still different. Ozlem Sen is one of those people. There's no easy way to explain here artwork, so what's better than hearing about it straight from the artists mouth? Sen explains, “In art I feel like I'm creating something permanent –... Read More

Italian born Sydney-sider Master of Ribongia, may be a relative newcomer to an eclectic electronica ship helmed by the likes of Warp Records and Brainfeeder, but he is certainly making his presence felt with his debut EP release I Bit Her. This work is full of interesting and aurally stimulating clicks and glitches, and smiling Super-Nintendo notes laid upon twisted squelching percussion. Light... Read More

There’s only one thing more satisfying than a beautiful new record, and that’s two new records. Side by side. Creating a picture. You thought those days were dead. But Twerps have other ideas. Back from a United States tour, Melbourne-based Twerps has a treat for their local followers. Their two new singles, Black Eyes 7” and She Didn’t Know 7”, are not only available in vinyl form, but have... Read More

The April Maze : The Protest Song
13 Comments. 3,724 Views. Posted 31 May 2011 @ 12:36pm.
A kind of meta-protest song that calls for strength, unity and marching in the streets without ever clearly identifying what is actually being protested against. There are oblique references to 'righting wrongs' to avoid having your 'freedom wings' clipped, and while 'they' are accused of chaining up humanity and blind-folding lucid dreamers, no specific victims or perpetrators are identified....
