Who are you? We’re Sugar Teeth – Piper Packshaw, Didirri Peters, Danny O’Keefe and Elijah Maddern. We’re sweet and soft, yet fierce and spiky. We’re drippy and syrupy, surging and feeling.
What sweet treat best depicts you as a band? Those multi coloured sour straps. Blue, green, yellow and red – each colour can be peeled off separately but are strongest (and most delicious) when eaten together.
As sweet as you sound, Sugar Teeth actually delves into some dark lyrical content. Is the juxtaposition part of the intention? Most definitely. A lot of our image and branding lends itself to this ‘sweet and sugary’ exterior. But deep down, at the crux of what we’re saying in our music there’s dark depths of ~feelings~.
What sweet things can punters look forward to at your EP launch? Well, firstly a four band lineup for $10. We meticulously hand-picked our lineup to represent the spectrum of places we find influence outside of our own genre. And of course, we’ll be giving away some yummies for all our mates.
What can we expect from Sugar Teeth in the near future? After our Melbourne launch, we’ll be heading up the coast to play launch parties in both Sydney and Brisbane. We’ll also be releasing a brand spankin’ new single in September before heading back into the studio early 2018 to record our album.
