Who are we chatting to and what do you do in the band? I’m Jesse and I play drums in Neighbourhood Youth.
When did you start drumming? There are photos of me playing drums before I could walk properly, but I’d say Iwas about 13 when I inherited my first kit and really started having a go.
Why did you start playing? Dad said I could have his drum kit if I cleaned it, so I cleaned it and never reallylooked back.
If you weren’t in Neighbourhood Youth, what would you be doing? I’d be in Hawaii.
What makes you happiest about playing in the band? Hanging out with the boys.
And what makes you unhappiest about it? Sydney tunnels and the panic attacks involved.
What’s your proudest Neighbourhood Youth moment? Touring the U.K was pretty huge for us when we first went over there.
And your least proud? The old Tuesday night gig in front of no one is pretty rough.
