Howlite

Shotkickers

Melbourne alt-pop trio Howlite are back! After an extended pandemic-shaped hiatus, the band will be heading down to Shotkickers on Thursday 01 June to showcase new lusciously synth-laden tunes.

Formed in 2016, Howlite have forged their own brooding aesthetic, their sound hailed by triple j as having “that London Grammar appeal” and KALTBLUT Magazine (GER) as “sublime, cinematic dreamscapes”. The band have independently released two EPs and performed alongside artists Deep Sea Arcade, Georgia Fields, Ruby Gill, Elizabeth and Walking on Cars (IRE), with their ethereal live shows garnering them a cult following across their home city and across the pond to Canada. This year, Howlite return to continue their musical evolution, drawing new inspiration from y2k electronica, Scandi-pop, trip-hop and euphoric performers like M83 and CHVRCHES. This is one show you don’t want to miss!

Joining Howlite will be the enigmatic Bella Deer, the creative pseudonym of Melbourne-based musician Isabella Losi. Weaving stunning vocals with intimate and open songwriting, Bella Deer showcases Losi’s natural storytelling skills with emotive and expansive sonic production; her music a perfect fit for fans of HAIM, Caroline Polachek and Weyes Blood. With first single, Bloom, released in 2022, Bella Deer has already accumulated an impressive performance history, cutting her teeth on Australian stages with the likes of Husky Gawenda, Thirsty Merc, Thando and more.
