Who are we chatting to and what do you do in the band? I’m a singer/songwriter that goes by the name of Belle Phoenix with Australian band The Subterranean Sea.
What do you love about making music? The unfolding journey of the confrontation with being human – all its vulnerability, strengths, weaknesses and expansion. The challenge of playing guitar. The amazing people you get to meet at shows. Having the opportunity to work with David Bowie’s band-member in New York.
What can we expect from a live show? Mostly high-energy, fun performance-art that can include weird and wonderful costumes. The live show has been described as haunting, epic, voodoo and can be a duo, four to eight-piece band with or without string instruments, experimental guitar and soundscapes.
What are you doing now? We are awaiting a remix of the album by Mark Plati in New York with gigs being booked in Europe for 2018. We’re wanting to play Aussie festivals and bars.
