Who are we chatting to and what do you do? You’re chatting to Maja (pronounced My-a) and I’m a soul/folk singer/songwriter.
What do you reckon people will say you sound like? My favourite comparison is Amy Winehouse. I hope they still think I sound like her.
What do you love about making music? Everything about creating and making music. I love that I can express myself in the way in which I know best and that I’ve always got that emotional outlet if I’m ever in a bad place. I like that you can use whatever you’re feeling to create something beautiful and real.
If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be? Probably The Beatles. I was obsessed with them as a teenager, and I would’ve loved to have been alive in the ‘60s. It seemed like such a vibrant musical time.
What can a punter expect from your live show? They can expect a lot of honest truths, laughs and humiliating stories about my life.
What’ve you got to sell CD-wise? I’ll be selling the physical copies of my EP at the launch show and throughout the rest of the tour.
