Watch: the first clip from the final season of Anthony Bourdain's ‘Parts Unknown’

The last season of the show will premiere in the US on September 23.

When Anthony Bourdain tragically passed away in June, he was working on the trailer for the new season of Parts Unknown, his acclaimed travel and food show.

Now, that trailer is with us and it certainly tugs at the heart-strings. Parts Unknown takes us to the most seldom-explored crevices of the globe and is lauded for that very reason. Bourdain explored the Congo, Libya and Myanmar while also visiting the food-rich areas of Peru and Morocco.

In this, the last season of Parts Unknown, Bourdain welcomes us to Kenya for its first episode and snippets from his journey with W. Kamau Bell make up the season trailer.

In one snippet, Bell and Bourdain sit on some rocks in Kenya, watching the wildlife whistle by.

“The idea that I’m sitting here with you, doing this now, knowing where my life and career have come, it’s pretty cool,” Bell says.

“Seventeen fucking years, as soon as the cameras turn off, and the crew will be sitting around, we’ll be having a cocktail. I fucking pinch myself,” Bourdain responds. “It’s like, I cannot fucking believe that I get to do this.”

A feature-length documentary is also being made on Anthony Bourdain and is set for release in 2019.
