Off The Street

Whilst most are nursing hangovers on Saturday and Sunday mornings, a group of young artists wake up early and transform one of Colombo's most beautiful roads into the largest art exhibition in the country.

For many Sri Lankans, art is considered soul food for the 'upper class' and viewed traditionally in boutique contemporary venues where the term 'Off the Kerb' doesn't apply. But these exhibitions are different – affluent and available to all. The 'Off the Street' exhibiton celebrates young talented underprivileged Sri Lankan artists who are without the means of exhibiting their work through private shows, yet are still able to find an audience.

Join their audiences as 'Off The Street' runs from Friday January 6 – Friday January 29 at Off The Kerb Gallery.
