The RSPCA are adopting out puppies for $29 this weekend

Please keep your squeals to a minimum, but you could have a new furry best friend by this weekend.

If you've been negotiating with your housemates for the last six months to get a canine or feline playmate and they're just not giving in, the RSPCA have got your back. Your ultimate drawcard: giving a lonely buddy a new home for only $29 this weekend, including microchipping, desexing, vaccinations, vet checks and worming.

Although the idea of a 'clear-out sale' for a living creature might be a bit weird, it's all for a good cause because the RSPCA are on a mission to find loving homes for some pretty cute pals with their Clear the Shelters adoption drive.

On average, 100 pets are taken in by the RSPCA every day, so there's a lot of animals waiting to be taken to a new home this weekend.

The RSPCA's Clear the Shelters adoption drive runs from Friday February 23 to Sunday February 25, across shelters in all states except WA and Tassie. Start planning your best friend's arrival here
