The Royal Melbourne Show announces new pavilion for young adults

Prepare to enjoy some of Melbourne’s favourite food and drink.

In the past, the Royal Melbourne Show has provided its patrons with animals to pat, spectacles to watch, toys to win, and rides to… ride. This year, they’re expanding even further; a new food and entertainment precinct, named The Meadow, will provide an immersive RMS experience.

While the Show is a favourite for kids and families, The Meadow is tailored for all the young adults keen to enjoy a spot of wholesome fun; punters can unwind by playing some lawn games and letting the live music wash over them, played from 2:30pm onwards.

Additionally, those in The Meadow can enjoy food provided by some of Melbourne’s award-winning restaurants, such as Mamasita and Biggie Smalls. When the evening hits don’t worry; you don’t have to head home just yet. The Meadow is open until 9pm – when the Show closes – so, for some more adult-friendly fun, Melbourne Martini, Stomping Ground and 6ft6 Wines will provide wine and cocktails.

If The Meadow is chockers, check out the Winning Tastes Pavilion; Glace, the artisanal dessert store by Christy Tania, will be stationed there from Saturday 22 to Thursday 27 September. After then, Pierrick Boyer will showcase his own sweet creations, including cakes and pastries available to buy and munch.

There’s also the Woolworths Fresh Food Pavilion, which will offer a selection of cuisines from around the world; this one aims to capture both local and international flavours. It’s your number 1 go-to if you’re looking for a healthy option amongst a sea of fairy-floss and fried goods; paella, sushi, artisan ice cream, and gourmet doughnuts are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Royal Melbourne Show will take over the Melbourne Showgrounds from Saturday 22 September to Tuesday 2 October. Information pertaining to earlybird offers, online savers, admission costs and ride passes is available at the RMS website.
