MOVE Yoga

How do yoga teachers influence positive change? Once of the most important roles of a yoga teacher is to live the principals of yoga on and off the mat. They help all of us to become aware of when we are pulled away from being present in our being. By encouraging our students to cultivate a daily practise of yoga, meditation and breath, positive change will be inevitable for all.

What inspired you to introduce teacher training?

The principals of yoga are over 5,000 years old. What a student experiences in a 60-minute class touches on this, however teacher training goes to a deeper level, educating the student about the roots of yoga, the poses, philosophy, anatomy, and also gives them the opportunity to learn how to teach and then go out and share this with those around them.

Who runs the training? MOVE Yoga is a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance, the global peak body for the yoga industry. Our facilitators and faculty are Yoga Alliance Registered Teachers with a combined experience of over 40 years in the industry.

What does MOVE’s teacher training uniquely offer? One of the most rewarding and challenging components of our 200-hour teacher training is that from the first weekend our students are up in front of their peers teaching yoga. They’re challenged to find their voice, face their fears and uncover who they are and what it is they can offer as a teacher. This is all held in a safe and supportive environment.
