Les Miserables will be brought to life in Melbourne next year

Vive la France.

The classic Victor Hugo musical Les Miserables will be brought back to life by the Young Australian Broadway Chorus in Melbourne next year.

For those who are a little late to the 1862 novel, Hugo weaves the story of Jean Valjean, a newly released French convict who is soon to learn the world is as harsh outside as it was inside the prison walls. Don't get too attached to any characters, they will probably die before the curtain closes.

As part of the successful Musicals for Young People series, the Young Australian Broadway Chorus will be taking audience members back to the midst of the June Rebellion. The musical will showcase more than 100 young performers, extravagant costumes and a full orchestra.

Les Miserables will be running between Friday January 18 and Saturday January 26, 2019 at the National Theatre. For tickets, head to www.lesmiz.com.au.
