Italian Film Festival 2016 Reveals Melbourne Program

On its opening night, the festival will premiere with director Paolo Genovese’s drama Perfect Strangers – a film about seven friends at a dinner party who decide to share all their messages, emails and phone calls they receive over the night, unleashing more secrets than expected. The cast includes Alba Rohrwacher, Kasia Smutniak, Edoardo Leo, Giuseppe Battiston, Valerio Mastandrea and Marco Giallini.

The festival will also host the world premiere of Australian-Italian co-production The Space Between by Melbourne filmmaker Ruth Borgobello. Veteran director Marco Bellocchio’s Sweet Dreams straight from his fortnight at Cannes will also be featured. Other films to be showcased include Solo, Daddy’s Girl, AriannaItalian Race and Fiore.
