For Berlin-based German cellist Alban Gerhardt, that’s exactly the case.
His performances combine passion, intelligent and a great intensity. Raised with musical parents, his father was a violinist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and his mother a singer. Taking up both piano and cello as only a child, he ultimately chose the cello as his instrument. An instrument which has seen him through much success.
Gerhardt has performed with all the major international orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic and London Philharmonic Orchestra.
He’s now bringing that talent down under for us to enjoy.
