The Democratic Set

What do you do with difference in equality? Ignore it, mark it, suppress it or smooth over it? As part of a 10-week Australian national tour for Mobile States, award-winning theatre company Back to Back Theatre brings their community residency project The Democratic Set to the Arts House.

Created in collaboration with local community members, The Democratic Set is a visual soapbox created with a number of North Melbourne community members whose performances are edited together to create a single tracking film shot through a series of identical rooms.

If you're keen to be part of the filming, head to North Melbourne Town Hall's Arts House on Tuesday August 7 from 3pm-7pm, as well as Wednesday August 8 and Thursday August 9 from 11am-1pm and 2pm-5pm. Head to artshouse.com.au for more details.
