Tell us about your exhibition Collaborazione. Collaborazione is a collaborative project, made up of five artisans: millinery, ceramics, jewellery, footwear and clothing. Artisans have integrated an Andie Meredith surface design into their collection of designs, which have been carefully curated within a heritage-listed warehouse, on Rankins Lane Melbourne CBD.
Where does Collaborazione draw inspiration? I visited Firenze and took curiosity in local artisan’s studios tucked away, down cobblestone laneways. Living in Melbourne, a collaborative project made perfect sense. The realisation that our laneway culture and local artisans, coupled with my extensive library of surface designs and prints meant I was totally inspired to create Collaborazione.
What type of attitude should we exhibit when walking through Collaborazione? Any or all, but not limited to: a curious nature, a curated experience, an interest in functional design.
Give us a fun fact about Collaborazione. A heritage listed building that took nine months to scout is the home of Collaborazione and its artisan works.
