The Game (US) – LAX Tour
LA born rapper The Game single-handedly brought the West Coast back when he burst onto the scene with his album, The Documentary, which is considered one of the strongest debut albums in hip hop history. He is also the only West Coast solo artist to release a multi-platinum album since Dr Dre’s 1999 classic, 2001. With millions of albums sold worldwide, and a reputation as one of hip hop’s most energetic and explosive performers, his live shows are unmissable. And now, Australian fans will get to see one of hip hop’s finest when The Game makes his way down under for his LAX Tour 2009. The Game’s third album L.A.X was released in 2008 with many claiming this album was in fact his best. Rumours have continued to circulate that this will be The Game’s last album, but until he hangs it up, he is gonna keep acting (like he did in the recent hit film “Street Kings” opposite Keanu Reeves), and best believe he is gonna keep rapping. He can’t help it. It’s in his blood. It’s a part of his psyche. His soul. Don’t miss the opportunity to see one of hip hop’s best performing all his hits, “How We Do”, “Hate It Or Love It”, “Let’s Ride”, “My Life”, “Games Pain”, “Let’s Ride”, “Wouldn’t Get Far” and many more. This mic-wielding phenomenon hits Festival Hall on Thursday August 7, so, get on it … peace.

Against The Grain vs Mixed Messages: Drummatic Twins (UK), Skool Of Thought (UK) + Worthy (US)
4 crews come together to celebrate 2 birthday parties and 3 styles of sound showcasing the best in Breaks, Techno and Electro, as we tear down the walls of industry trends and cater for the ears of all involved. Nick Slater and Lanx are the Drumattic Twins, the name a consequence of having amplified attacks of drum-machine seizures in their loft. True pioneers of the scene they have played an integral part of dance music history since they first appeared in the early nineties. With no signs of slowing down in 2008, Worthy has already released the underground hit Work The Walls on his label and its accompanying music video has given fans a glimpse into the la la land of his mind. With plenty more remixes and originals on their way and the continued growth of Anabatic Records, Worthy is set to continue getting everyone working the walls around the world. Living between the UK and Australia, Skool Of Thought is the owner and label manager behind the award winning Against The Grain & SuperCharged Music record labels - home to the likes of the Freestylers, Krafty Kuts, Splitloop, Ed Solo and of course Skool Of Thought. He is the guy responsible for the enormous Groove Armada 'Superstylin' and Freestylers v Pendulum 'Painkiller' breaks remixes.

From a city notorious for it's gun violence and the appropriation of the Lyn Collins' 'Think About It' drum-break, comes Joe Nice - Baltimore's ardent ambassador of the UK dubstep movement. Appearing for the first time in Australia, Joe Nice is our very special guest. Joined by a huge local DJ line-up including Affiks & A13, Riz-One, Shikung, Mexi, and Thomas Kilroc; Joe Nice is in great company. Add Melbourne's own dubstep production duo Editor launching their debut CD downstairs at Midnight and you know this one is set to go off. Limited presales $18+BF from InTheMix.Com.Au or more on the door. Joe Nice IS dubstep. HEAVY INNIT bangs hard.
